“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” Elliott Erwitt
USA
Grand Canyon…It’s smaller than I thought.
It’s HUGE. Indescribably huge. Incomprehensibly huge. It’s like a magnet – the closer I get, the harder it tries to push me away.
Horseshoe Bend…As you walk down the trail, loose desert sand gives way to sandstone rocks that date back to the early Jurassic period. Over millions of years, wind and water have eroded these rocks to create absolutely weird, but awe inspiring shapes and patterns.
Upon reaching the overlook, one is awed by the magnificence of the landscape that cannot be expressed in words or through a photograph. The overlook is at the top of a steep orange colored cliff several hundreds of feet high. Down below, an emerald green Colorado river makes a horse-shoe shaped bend before rushing towards the Grand Canyon.
Zion National Park…Carved by water and time, Zion National Park is a canyon that invites you to participate in the very forces that created it. In the warm climate of southwestern Utah, step into the Virgin River and see the colorful strata that mark the ages rising for thousands of feet up to a narrow strip of sky, then hike to seemingly impossible places and heights.
New York…the pulsing city that never sleeps. Captivating, sexy, multicultural, exotic and charming at the same time. Every time I visit NY I discover new hidden gems, ultra-modern buildings, exhibitions and performances that I’d watch over and over again. And food…oh dear! So much variety of choices. Indian, Japanese, Italian, French, Caribbean, Spanish, American…I could go on and on forever.
Chapel Hill…Being in a college town fuels a thriving community and this is why so many people enjoy living and raising a family here: from Carrboro’s Brooklyn-cool, to Chapel Hill’s Tar Heel-blue-dotted landscape, and Hillsborough’s emergence as one of the best little historic towns in the south.

This must have been such an awesome trip! The scenery is breathtaking. I especially love the photo of sand running down through the Antelope Canyon.
